Dedicated LOVE>hate Project supporters came back stronger than ever after having to cancel all of our 2020 events due to the pandemic. The outpouring of generosity and passion for our mission to end violence against women and girls was beyond inspiring, and we could not be more thankful for their support. Hundreds of volunteers, nearly 1,000 guests, and countless sponsors raised close to $30,000 during this year’s three big events.
Golf Outing
Our 6th Annual Golf Outing at the Mayville Golf Course was the biggest and best yet. With 90 golfers and 105 diners, we raised over $7,000 to help end violence against women and girls.
The entire day was one to remember. Several lucky attendees walked away with amazing raffle prizes, including a Caribbean cruise and a set of Callaway golf clubs. In addition, there were hole events, door prizes, and a delicious dinner to be enjoyed by all.
Perhaps the most memorable part of the event came from Autumn, a guest speaker who shared her own story of surviving violence. With honesty and bravery, she deepened people’s understanding of the importance of this work and the challenges we face trying to transform culture.
Family Fun Fair
We could not have asked for a better day for the Family Fun Fair! It was a beautiful and breezy September afternoon, and hundreds of guests of all ages enjoyed horseback riding, a bounce house, a bake sale, and a petting zoo. Live and silent auctions featured great items, including a quarter side of beef, a kitchen and bathroom remodel, and even a one-week stay at a Colorado ranch retreat.
While this fun event was a time for families to bond and reconnect, it also strengthened our relationships with partner agencies. FRIENDS, Inc. and WCATA joined us for the Family Fun Fair, and engaged attendees in meaningful, educational, healing conversations.
A huge thank you to the 70 volunteers who made this day happen, the 800 guests who showed up to have fun and educate themselves, and the monetary and in-kind donations that raised $19,000 for L>h programs and outreach.
5/10K Run/Walk
The 6th Annual 5/10K Run/Walk returned with over 50 participants and 30 volunteers. Each participant was given a shirt to wear while running or walking the neighborhood course to show off their support. A raffle drawing and custom medals for the winners in each age group added extra excitement to the event.
Two speakers inspired runners—not just to give it their all on the course, but to never give up on the mission to end violence. Founder Dr. Buck Blodgett kicked off the event with a heartfelt thanks to everyone in attendance and to show his appreciation for being back after last year’s cancellation. Autumn, who also spoke at the Golf Outing, again shared her story of resilience and inspired everyone in attendance.

L>h could not make progress towards our ambitious goal of zero tolerance for interpersonal violence without the events and the amazing people that come together to make them a success. We are eternally thankful for the generous and passionate supporters. All of the volunteers, donors, sponsors and attendees of these events allow us to expand our reach and have a greater impact on a global level.
