Much of daily life has been paused due to the global COVID-19 pandemic; domestic violence, sadly, has not.
Amidst steadily rising cases of abuse, our longtime allies at FRIENDS, Inc. have continued serving victims and survivors. As the only organization of its kind in Washington County, WI, they never closed their doors nor denied individuals based on health status.
Instead, they got creative: Remote counseling, rigorous cleaning, and using hotels to increase residential housing capacity have all helped keep staff and those hurt or displaced by violence as safe as possible.
With volunteerism and funding severely impacted by the pandemic, FRIENDS, Inc. needs our support to continue providing its invaluable services to the many people who depend on them. Whether it’s grocery shopping, crisis line volunteering, or donating money or items, there are so many ways to get involved.
Together, we will make it through this challenging time and emerge even more committed to LOVE over hate.
