From the archives: October 2017
SCI. Just east of Eau Claire. 1500 inmates. All male. 300 staff. Medium-security prison. An inmate came up after “A Message from Jessie” and promised to take and live The Real Man Pledge to never harm a woman, girl, or child. He admitted being a sex offender, and acknowledged being abused as a child. He understands now that hurt boys become hurt men, and hurt men hurt others. He knows he must heal himself first. He committed to engaging 100% in his programs. It’s a start.
