In the wake of the Waukesha tragedy, we at L>h are excited about some specific actions we can take locally, baby steps towards the giant leap of ending violence. Too soon to talk; just a teaser today. We’ll announce at the right time.
Meanwhile, ongoing prayers and blessings for everyone directly involved, and for the troubled hearts of all of us.
We especially send our love to the families of those killed, including: Leanna Owen, 71; Tamara Durand, 52; Virginia Sorenson, 79; Wilhelm Hospel, 81; Jane Kulich, 52; and Jackson Sparks, 8.
We’ll leave you with a Jessie-inspired thought for this challenging time:
Aspire to be just the right blend of idealism and realism. Think globally, work locally. We need vision; without a vision the people perish. Big dreams light the fire and stir us to action. Head in the clouds, but feet firmly on the ground, or you float away. Do what you can, where you are, with what you have. But hold the vision.
Some giant leaps forward, like ENDing violence against women and inspiring LOVE over hate, are just the end result of many, many baby steps taken one by one.
